THE THREE JOHNS - "Never and Always"

I'm posting this song by a fairly unknown bad, the Three Johns:

I can't find my favorite song by them "FRUIT FLIES"... maybe it will show up somewhere on the internet in the future, FSM willing.

Labels:

2001: A Space Odyssey - HAL 9000

A completely classic film moment:

I'm afraid Dave.

Labels: ,

GNARLS BARKLEY - "Run"

This is just completely awesome:

HERE IT IS in a better version...

Labels:

KRAFTWERK - "Autobahn"

My aunt in Germany actually sent me this album back in 1975 or so... it was the popular thing:

I guess they were the first with this kind of music, just like they were first with those kind of highways. After playing this for my friends (and having Mutti translate) we went out and bought the next album TRANS EUROPE EXPRESS. You can hear where John Carpenter got EVERY SINGLE SOUNDTRACK for his movies...

Labels: ,

KEITH MOON - "Barbara Ann"

Holy smokes!

Strange times, eh?

Labels: ,

MGMT - "Time to Pretend"

This is my current favorite song, and my view of the Apocalypse:

Here's the crappy YouTube version, with "Embedding disabled by request." Whatevuh, rockstars.

And HERE'S the very nice version that takes about 2 minutes to load on my computer, but well worth it. I really like this band.

Oh, and here they are preforming this song on Letterman:

I like them muchly.

And of course, HERE is the better version!

Labels: ,

ALTERED IMAGES - "I Could Be Happy"

Ah, the early 1980s...

I could be happy.

DAVID BOWIE - "Five Years" (Live 1972)

Quite possible my favorite Bowie song:

but the whole RISE AND FALL OF ZIGGY STARDUST AND THE SPIDERS FROM MARS album pretty much kicks ass.

Labels: , , , , ,

DAVID BOWIE - "Drive-In Saturday"

He emerged even MORE glamorous.

Best line: "His name is always BUDDY!" as only Bowie can sing it!

Labels: ,

DAVID BELLE does some amazing parkour

Behold:

What is parkour? CLICK HERE!

Labels: , ,

ETHEL SMITH - "Tico Tico" and more

This woman really knows her way around a Hammond Organ:

CHEECH & CHONG - "Basketball Jones"

For your perusal:

Labels: , ,

DEVO - Mongoloid (A film by Bruce Conner)

This is pretty damn cool:

And he wore a hat
And he had a job
And he brought home the bacon
So that no one knew
Mongoloid he was a mongoloid
His friends were unaware
Mongoloid he was a mongoloid
Nobody even cared

Labels:

THE RIGHT BROTHERS - "Bush Was Right"

And on that note:

Actually, Bush wasn't right.

Not a joke, not a parody. Sadly.
