LYKKE LI - "Breaking It Up"
I just can't decide 100% about this gal... she's very compelling with a great voice and thoughtful lyrics, but that megaphone schtick has got to go:
And

JAMIE LIDELL - "The City"
I like this guy's attitude... looks like a '70s punk. Who is shaving on the street. In front of a liquor store. With a Lady Bic©.
HERE'S the link to Lidell's website. To view a better version of this video, click on the link and then look for the guy shaving on the right side of the page.

Squeeze, another fine band, from a very good year indeed:
They're cool for cats. This album is long gone from my collection. Sadly.

ECHO & the BUNNYMEN - "The Cutter"
Spare us:
"I see another herd approaching." is just a classic line. This song has many.
And then there's this huge joke with the missus and I about what a "cutter" is...

MARK OSBORNE "MORE" - music "Eligia" by NEW ORDER
Um:
I remember this song being on a "mix tape" that my sister had from a friend of hers, and being incredibly stoned while listening to it. I was young then, and enjoyed it immensely.
Labels: '80s memories , lotsa plot

KRAFTWERK - "Autobahn"
My aunt in Germany actually sent me this album back in 1975 or so... it was the popular thing:
I guess they were the first with this kind of music, just like they were first with those kind of highways. After playing this for my friends (and having Mutti translate) we went out and bought the next album TRANS EUROPE EXPRESS. You can hear where John Carpenter got EVERY SINGLE SOUNDTRACK for his movies...
