THE SAINTS - (I'm) Stranded
One of the best... just sums the entire late-1970s punk thing up... and it comes from the other side of the world. Just goes to show you Australia had some frikkin great punk stuff too.

IGGY POP - "Some Weird Sin"
The man himself:
Gotta give Iggy for putting this kind of music out for 35 freaking years now. Grandpa will kick your ass.
Lyric:
Well, I never got my license to live They wont give it up So I stand at the worlds edge
Well, Im trying to break in Oh no, its not for me And the sight of it all Makes me sad and ill Thats when I want Some weird sin
Things get too straight I cant bear it I feel stuck Stuck on a pin
Well Im trying to break in And I know its not for me And the sight of it all Makes me sad and ill Thats when I want Some weird sin Thats when I want Some weird sin Just to relax with
Thats some dumb weird sin For a while anyway With my head on the ledge Thats what you get out on the edge Some weird sin
Things get too straight I cant bear it I feel stuck Stuck on a pin
Im trying to break in Oh, I know its not for me Well, the sight of it all Makes me sad and ill Thats when I want Some weird sin Thats when I want Some weird sin Just to relax with . Thats some dumb weird sin For a while anyway With my head out on the ledge Thats what you get out on the edge Some weird sin Some weird sin, some weird sin

THE CRAMPS - "TV Set"

Oh baby I see you on my TV set Yeah baby I see you on my TV set I cut your head off and put it in my TV set I use your eyeballs for dials on my TV set I watch TV I watch TV Since I put you in my TV set
Oh baby I hear you on my radio Yeah baby I hear you on my radio You know I flip flip flip for my radio You're going drip drip drip on my radio AM radio PM radio Since I tuned you inside my radio... Like this!
Oh baby I see you in my Frigidaire Yeah baby I see you in my Frigidaire Behind the mayonnaise, way in the back I'm gonna see you tonight for a midnight snack But though it's cold You won't get old 'Cause you're well preserved in my Frigidaire Yahhhhhhh....
Oh baby look so good in my crib at night Yeah baby look so good in my crib at night I could give you a million hugs You look so good all covered up in bugs Oh, I missed some there Under your chair But that's all right, I'll sweep you under the rug... ah ha ha!
Oh baby I see you on my TV set Yeah baby I see you on my TV set I cut your head off and put it in my TV set I use your eyeballs for dials on my TV set I watch TV I watch TV Since I seen you I've been so upset

IGGY POP & DINAH SHORE - Just chat
I remember watching the DINAH SHORE show when I was a child, along with Graham Kerr, Merv Griffin, David Frost and others... but I don't remember seeing this:
It's fairly gentle and human... it's from when talk show hosts didn't pander or plug.
Oh and Bowie's there too. Man, what a time and place.

KRAFTWERK - "Autobahn"
My aunt in Germany actually sent me this album back in 1975 or so... it was the popular thing:
I guess they were the first with this kind of music, just like they were first with those kind of highways. After playing this for my friends (and having Mutti translate) we went out and bought the next album TRANS EUROPE EXPRESS. You can hear where John Carpenter got EVERY SINGLE SOUNDTRACK for his movies...

DEVO - Mongoloid (A film by Bruce Conner)
This is pretty damn cool:
And he wore a hat And he had a job And he brought home the bacon So that no one knew Mongoloid he was a mongoloid His friends were unaware Mongoloid he was a mongoloid Nobody even cared

SCISSOR SISTERS - "I Don't Feel Like Dancing"
I really hate Disco, having had to listen to it incessantly via my siblings from the early '70s funk on through the Bee Gees Dominance Era of the late '70s... but these guys just hit it right freaking ON.
